DO NOT ask the seller to close their auction(s) early. This is against eBay policy. Most sellers find it rude when people ask them to close their auction early. Buyer and seller should both complete the auction normally for an insured transaction. Logic does suggest the seller will likely appreciate a local deal. This saves the seller the hassle of crating the bike and providing transport to the frieght depot. The local bidder's advantage here is that most out of state bidders will be figuring in crating, transport and shipping costs to their top bids. Friendly communication with the seller can save you $$$. You may find sellers throwing in spares, jackets, helemets and gloves when you pick the bike up. Happy Bidding!
Parts Buyers: Buying cycle parts on eBay locally does not mean the seller will have you pick them up in person. A lot of people like their privacy, and this should be kindly respected if they refuse to meet in person. A shipping discount may be in order on bigger items shipped locally if the seller agrees.
